Gathering 2007 songwriters - welcome!
Looking forward to working with you from tomorrow.
Here are the 12 songs from the winners (as audio or as lyric-only) so we can get to know each other musically. I've excluded these from public searches and all the info/photos shown here are already available elsewhere on the Internet, but if anyone is uncomfortable having their stuff up here just email me and I'll take it down.
All best,
Joe

Tae the lords o’ New Labour,
A patriot spoke:
“There are things here unsound,
That I’ve found o’ ye foes.
So tae each profiteer who loves honours for fees,
Let guid honest folks holler this song in their ears:
Chorus
Ye’ve filled up yer cup; Ye’ve filled up yer can,
Enlargin’ yer coffers for offers o’ fame,
E’er stoopin’ sae low,
Hopin’ nae-yin wud see.
Noo ye’re cursed by a crofter tae crawl on yer knees.
Yer greed, it has found ye tae side wi’ that breed,
O’ yon fellows whose ancestors shunned those in need.
Sic a fraudulent plan, wi’ great lust in its creed,
That’ll shoot yer ain fit by it’s devilish deeds.
There are pigs there sae bent, and there’s hams in their ha’ s.
As George Orwell did shout, “Some mair equal than a’ !”.
O’ New Labour and vassals, sae proud as they cheer:-
“Hey! Hey!” for their profits , whilst laudin’ their peers.
Let’s awa’ o’er the Minch tae Clan Neil o’ the rock.
Here’s a toast to you Angus! for jousting that lot.
Since defendit ye did whit wis written yestreen,
Here’s a “Buaidh no Bàs ” and a song for those fiends...
